Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan thinks that in a long-term perspective it would be correct to regulate the price of gas in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. Nikol Pashinyan expressed such an opinion in Moscow, in a press briefing in Moscow, Armenpress informed.
“For the time being, the conversation is about not raising the price of gas for Armenian consumers in 2019. This means that we have a year to continue consultaions with our partners in Russia, Gazprom and within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union to achieve a long-term solution for this issue. Of course, it will be correct that this issue is resolved within the Eurasian Economic Union because I think this is a more correct approach because we are speaking about the common economic area. We will work in this direction,” Pashinyan said.
He added that the Armenian government will not provide any subsidy determined by increase of price of gas supplied to Armenia by Russia. Everything will remain the same, simply they get some time to discuss the gas issue in more detail.
