We Must Turn Over This Bloody and Shameful Page Once and For All: Speaker Mirzoyan

Armenia

The Speaker of the Armenian parliament Ararat Mirzoyan has posted on the tragedy of 1 March 2008 in Facebook.

“On 1 March 2008, they shot demonstrators in the capital of the Republic of Armenia to clamp down on the peaceful protest of the citizens. Many of us who had stood up for a peaceful struggle for freedom and dignity could have been one of those killed 10 people, the 11th, the 21st… Remembering that day, remembering all the victims, remembering all those injured, remembering all of us who had not been hurt physically but went home frustrated and broken, we must turn over this bloody a and shameful page of our history once and for all and reject and rule out political violence and pressure in our country. Never again.”
