Head of State Control Service Charged and Suspended


The National Security Service informed today that on 18 April 2019 the head of the State Control Service Davit Sanasaryan was charged under Article 308 Para 2 based on evidence obtained during the investigation of the case of misuse by officials of the State Control Service under Article 308 Para 2 and Article 325 Para 2 initiated on 20 February 2019.

The NSS notes that sufficient evidence has been obtained that Davit Sanasaryan, being the head of the State Control Service, proceeded from vested interests and misused his powers in favor of entrepreneurial activity of the company actually managed by his staff members, as well as failed to perform his official duties.

Davit Sanasaryan has signed a non-departure order. He will be suspended temporarily. The relevant decision by the investigator approved by the prosecutor supervising the case has been sent to the prime minister.
