3 People Were Stopped for Violence Against Gaspari, 1 Is Owner of TV5 Channel


The police has stopped three people for the incident involving Vardges Gaspari, a political activist, and the supporters of the ex-president Robert Kocharyan whose trial for the March 1, 2008 clampdown started yesterday. As the trial started, the ex-president’s supporters went on protest near the court. Vardges Gaspari criticized them harshly in public after which he underwent violence, and someone hit him in the face with a water bottle and injured his cheek.

Armenpress has learned from the communications department of the police, 5 people went to the police department, including 3 were stopped, 2 were invited.

Investigation is underway, no other details were shared.

Among those stopped was reportedly the owner of TV5 Channel Armen Tavadyan.

Later they were let go.
