Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on the first arrest in the framework of the March 1 case in a meeting with reporters.
“I think first of all this indicates the consistent work of the Special Investigative Service. We all understand that what was done in the past ten years was not an investigation and everything was done to cover up all the possible facts. The fact that the bullets had been replaced means everything has been replaced, people, events, faces. In this situation, if the SIS has been able to have a person arrested… After learning the news I had emotional moments. And because it is about arrest, we don’t know whether charges will be brought or not but it is obvious that all the murders of March 1 must be revealed, and it is obvious that starting from 1 March 2008 everything has been done to cover up, I think this is a fact,” he said.
He also commented on the case of Robert Kocharyan et al. He said he cannot provide a legal assessment at this stage. However, in general, we report that everything is going on well, all rights are protected, the solution of other legal matters must proceed according to the relevant procedures, he said.
