On June 7 Judge Anna Danibekyan published the decision on appeal against the decision of the investigator to freeze the property and liquid assets of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. The court decided to partly grant the appeal submitted by Hovhannes Khudoyan, the defender of Robert Kocharyan, Armenpress informed.
Judge Danibekyan ruled that the court found Robert Kocharyan’s rights had been violated but declined the claim to obligate the body conducting the proceedings to eliminate the violation of rights and to obligate the prosecutor to remove Investigator Musheghyan from proceedings.
Robert Kocharyan’s property was frozen after he was charged with a coup on 30 July 2018. Kocharyan’s barristers appealed against this decision to the prosecutor but the appeal was declined and they appealed to court.
Earlier Robert Kocharyan’s pension bank account was frozen but eventually the freeze on the account was lifted on the demand of the Human Rights Defender.
