Armenia

The Ministry of Defense of Artsakh has dismissed the Azerbaijani press reports on violation of the ceasefire by the Armenian troops in different directions of the line of contact. According to the Azerbaijani press, aside from different firearms the Armenian troops used also 60 mm mortars. In this connection, the Defense Army of Artsakh Republic has issued a press release.

“Today several Azerbaijani media, referring to the press release by the communications service of their defense agency, reported that the Armenian subdivisions violated the ceasefire in different directions of the line of contact, aside from different firearms, they used also 60 mm mortars (8 projectiles).

The Ministry of Defense of Artsakh Republic not only dismisses this misinformation but also informs that during the day on June 11 and in the night of June 12 the Azerbaijani side put to use at several parts of the line of contact long-range and sniper arms, as well as RPG-17 grenade launchers (5 grenades). If need be, we can prove with relevant footages.

Besides, intensification of training flights of Azerbaijani UAVs and military aircraft which often cross the defined flight zone has been observed.

The Ministry of Defense of Artsakh announces that the flights of the Azerbaijani air force are under the rigid control of the air defense means of the Defense Army, and the front units fully keep the operative-tactical situation at the front line under control.

The Ministry of Defense of Artsakh Republic calls on the Azerbaijani side to refrain from provocative actions aimed at artificial escalation and implement without reservations the agreement on maintaining the ceasefire reached through mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. Otherwise, the responsibility for escalation of the situation and the ensuing consequences fall on official Baku,” the message states.
