During the press briefing at the conference of the Civil Contract Party the speaker of parliament commented on the meeting of the ex-president Robert Kocharyan and the Russian ambassador. Ararat Mirzoyan said he does not welcome this meeting.
He said the ambassador meets with different representatives of the political field but there is a point here. The charges brought against him place him outside the pure political field, and therefore I do not welcome this meeting. I do not look at Robert Kocharyan as a politician or a representative of the political field otherwise I would welcome his meetings with the Russian ambassador or any other country’s ambassador.
He also said that the relations with Russia or any other country cannot affect the trial of the case of March 1, adding that neither Russia, nor any other country should interfere with the sovereignty of Armenia.
