Ex-president Kocharyan Again Files for Release from Custody

The barristers of the second president Robert Kocharyan have submitted a written motion to the judge of the first instance court Davit Grigoryan for releasing their defendant on bail. The defenders suggest that the court set the size of the bail.

The court has not expressed any position yet.

The June 25 decision of the Court of Appeals has voided the decision of the first instance court to release Robert Kocharyan on personal recommendations by the former and current presidents of Artsakh and ruled to remand him in custody. Besides, the Court of Appeal overturned the decision of the first instance court to apply to the Constitutional Court and to suspend the proceedings and sent the case for a new examination.
