Sanitek, Waste Management Operator, Avoided Taxes in Armenia

Sanitek International, the waste management operator in Yerevan, and its Armenian branch failed to pay taxes to the Armenian treasury in the amount of 580 million drams in January-September 2018, the deputy head of the State Revenue Committee Edward Hovhannisyan told reporters on August 13.

“According to preliminary calculations of tax liabilities, in January-September 2018 Sanitek International LLC failed to calculate and pay to the treasury 299,918,392 AMD of VAT, and its Armenian branch office, Sanitek LLC, failed to pay 280,429,121 AMD of VAT. Aside from this, during the investigation of the criminal case, it became known that Sanitek LLC and Sanitek International LLC failed to submit consolidates tax accounts of the environmental tax and nature use payment in 2018, Hovhannisyan said.

The Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and Mines has been assigned to find out the amount of undeclared and unperformed tax liabilities.
