The minister of foreign affairs of Artsakh Masis Mayilyan spoke about his intention to run for the presidential election in 2020.

He wrote on Facebook that his post on 13 August 2019 suggesting the possibility of his active participation in the 2020 elections was accepted positively in Artsakh, Armenia and the Diaspora. His discussions with the citizens, political and public circles of Artsakh, the government and political circles of Armenia showed that there are preconditions for his nomination for the presidential election, Masis Mayilyan writes.

“I have decided to run since the existing preconditions guarantee successful conduct of the elections in 2020 and inspire confidence in efficient implementation of different development programs in Artsakh,” Masis Mayilyan wrote on Facebook.

“It is time for active and decisive steps towards a broad unification of the healthy forces of the public with a view to discussing and adopting fundamental reform programs in Artsakh. In the result of reforms we will jointly achieve a safe, prosperous, reliable, fair, civilized and democratic future, in brief, we will create our New Artsakh.”
